I didn't start Waystead because I wanted to start another AI company.

I've spent much of my career in enterprise technology: cloud infrastructure, large platforms and, more recently, AI systems. That meant building and running complex systems, thinking about technology strategy, and leading technical initiatives.

After years of working with complex technology platforms and enterprise systems, I became increasingly interested in a different question:

What could we build if we focused less on the technology itself and more on the experiences it makes possible?

That question became Waystead: a place to apply that experience to products that improve everyday life. Each of the four products began with a different part of it.

They look different on purpose. What they share is not an industry or a technology. It is the belief that technology matters most when it creates a meaningful experience.

Some of these products rely heavily on AI. Others rely more on community, coordination or simply good design. The principle is the same in every case.

AI itself is not the product. What becomes possible because of AI is the product.

Waystead isn't limited to one category, and it isn't limited to one technology. It is a place to build and to experiment, and to see what becomes possible as AI, multimodal systems, agents and other technologies evolve.

Some experiments will remain experiments. Some will become products. The ones that matter will be the ones that make technology disappear into the experience.
